There are a lot of adjustments going on during the first week with your puppy, for both of you! However, it’s best to start training them as soon as possible. The younger they are, the easier it will be to help your puppy adjust to living a happy life in a human world. Most problems with our dogs as adults, can be avoided completely, by implementing the correct socialisation, training and routine from day one.
Welcoming a new puppy into your home is such an exciting time. It can also be emotional, frustrating, stressful and exhausting. Your puppy will make you melt when you gaze at their sleepy little face whilst you are cuddling them. Along with possibly tearing your hair out with frustration too. To ensure your puppy grows up to be happy, confident, resilient and loved, with all the life skills they will need to have a long fulfilled life with you.
Your dog hits adolescence and it all seems to go wrong. Your ‘wonderful’ puppy is now ignoring you and going ‘deaf’ out on walks. That once perfect puppy who adored being near you is now a source of frustration, and sometimes utter panic outdoors, as you stand there screaming your head off to no avail as you watch your dog do as they please, or worse they leg it, way too far away, chasing a squirrel or going to say hi to a dog they have seen in the distance.

Training is the single, most important thing that keeps a dog in his “forever home’.
Training should be fun and rewarding for both you and your dog. It will enrich your relationship and make living together more enjoyable. A well-trained dog can be be allowed a greater amount of freedom than an untrained one.
Positive, reward-based training means we encourage behaviour we like with rewards and either prevent or manage behaviour we do not like. Dogs also need kind, fair boundaries and rules. We are not just ‘treat givers’ who ignore bad behaviour.
Our trainers are certified and have years of experience working with dogs of all breeds and ages. They are passionate about helping dogs reach their full potential and work tirelessly to ensure that every dog receives the best possible care and attention.
We understand that every dog is unique, which is why we offer customized training programs that are tailored to meet the specific needs of each dog and their owner. Our trainers work closely with you to identify the areas that need improvement and develop a training plan that is effective and enjoyable for both you and your dog.
An important thing to ask any trainer before you start working with them is “what equipment might you use or recommend” I will never ever use inhumane tools and techniques that cause physical harm or any discomfort to your dog. Equipment I use: food, toys, flat collar, harness, standard lead, double ended lead, long training lines, clickers, whistles.
